My Dad has been asking to see pictures of our backyard in its current state for weeks. Being that yesterday was Father's Day, I thought I'd indulge him even though our yard is a LONG way off from being done.
Eventually we'd like a patio, but for now having the table directly on the
crabgrass is working out just fine.
|If you are one of our very generous family members who gave us a gift card from Pottery Barn over the past year, we used it to buy new seat cushions and an umbrella. Thank you!|
|The new Holly bushes are in the background. We transplanted the Hostas from the side yard. Mulching this area is still on the "to do" list.|
Chris built the Adirondack chairs from scratch about 5 years ago for the old house. Over the weekend he put on a fresh coat of paint and now they look good as new.
View of the side of the house and a glimpse of the Arborvitae we had planted last fall. When they grow to be full size, our backyard will be nice and private.
View of the side yard and "fern forest". We're not exactly sure yet how to best utilize this area.
We also bought some inexpensive solar lighting. These are horrible pictures, but you get the idea...
Check out how much the flower beds in the front of the house have grown since we had them planted last fall.
