I was poking around in our basement shortly after we moved in and found this little guy. I didn't think anything of it at the time except to wonder which room it originally belonged in.
I came across it again a couple of weeks ago and took a closer look. With a little love, this could make a cute addition to a guest room or the guest bath someday. I made a couple of calls to see how much it would cost to have it rewired. About $75. Hmmmm. Not exactly cheap.
I showed it to Chris who took one glance at it and said, "that doesn't need to be rewired". Sure enough, it appears to have already been done!
So did the chandelier originally belong to the house and the previous owner rewired it? Or did he buy it second hand with the intention of using it somewhere in the house? We may never know...

Have you ever seen the way Candice Olsen sometimes uses a small chandy like that hung instead of a table lamp? I could see you using this in a small seating area.
That is so cute! I second Karen's ideal of hanging it over a little reading nook. What a sweet little find!
Ooooo, the mystery!!!
It's cute..excited to see what you do with it!
Or how about using it over a nightstand in the bedroom...what a fun discovery!

We had a fixture very similar to that when we bought our home and I'm so mad that I gave it away! Can't wait to see what you will do with it.
Ooh, great find. It will be as good as new with a little elbow grease. I think Karen's idea is perfect, using it in a small seating area. I can't wait to see it all spiffed up!

What a great find! The amazing thing about older homes is the wonderful, unique things you may find along the way! It will look beautiful all spruced up!
I love it. You will definitely be able to use that somewhere. I would look around for another lighting shop. I have rewired loads of things for clients and for a chandelier much bigger with double the number of arms it's usually $40. Lucky for you it's nadda!
I love the idea of using things in the home that are original, or somehow relate to the previous owner. Bet it will look gorgeous when you fix it up!
As someone who has rewired many an antique light fixture for renovaton projects, that's definitely newer wire than the era that chandelier was made. Yep, that is a mystery - and a pretty one at that!
Ooo that looks like a great project...I think it's time for a little love! :)
So cute! Could totally see it painted a fun color and hanging in a guest room to create a cozy well-lit and interesting corner.
