Over the weekend Chris and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary by spending the day in Newport, RI. Newport is famous for its mansions, but believe it or not, Chris and I didn't feel like touring old houses. Instead we just relaxed and took in the sights and sounds of the fantastic summer day.
The owners of this house had the same idea we did which was to use the expensive slate on the mansards and use less expensive materials on the upper roof where it is less visible. We're on to them though...
There was a boat docked next to the outdoor patio of the restaurant where we ate lunch.
The Clarke Cooke House is one of our favorite places to sit and have a drink.
And people watch. The people watching in Newport is quite entertaining.
Inside it feels so old school & nautical. Check out the captain's chairs. All the different colors resemble sails on a ship.
Such a cool logo.
View of some of the many shops and restaurants on Bowen's Wharf.
I snapped this photo as we were driving out of town at the end of our day. Filing it away as potential exterior paint color combo when we have our house painted next summer.
And here we are, just hitched. Happy Anniversary, baby :)
