Last weekend, Chris and I took time off from our guest bath renovation and treated ourselves to a night out in Boston. Whenever we stay overnight in the city, we like to stay at the Eliot Hotel. It is a boutique hotel in a great location and has a really amazing restaurant. A major bonus is that they allow pets, so Harry and Georgia were able to come with us. Yup, we're
those people.
We splurged on a suite. I love the french doors that separate the bedroom from the living room area. This made me want to outfit our own bedroom with a large scale mirror behind the headboard and install a bed canopy.
Here's another suite with a shot of the living area.
The restaurant, Clio. Isn't the molding fantastic? It is hard to tell in this picture, but the rug is a leopard print. Me-ow.
The first time we stayed at the Eliot, we sat and had a drink at the bar. Of course, I had to ask the bartender if he knew the name of the wall color, but he only looked at me like I had two heads. Oh well, it was worth a shot!
Where's your favorite weekend getaway?

I'm going to Boston for a meeting in April so it's good to have a recommendation.
We haven't had a getaway in years. So sad.
How nice for you two! And I would do the same thing about the paint - too funny. We usually go into Center City Philadelphia when we want a night out, but we've also taken a drive down to AC and Annapolis too - both are fairly quick trips and nice to do something different. That hotel room suite is so pretty and the restaurant very swanky! Have a good weekend Carrie!
oh that looks amazing!!!! you guys deserved it!
gorgeous hotel!!! My hubs actually has that restaurant as one of his clients!
How fun to take a break from renovating and stay at the Eliot! I loved that bar that they used to have in the basement where the sushi restaurant is now. It had couches and was really intimate....do you remember it? Clio is a great restaurant. You are so funny that you asked the bartender about the wall color!!!!
Amazing! I want to stay there! That bad is awesome and I want those coffered ceilings in my house!
Oh, I fondly remember our last getaway before kids - it was Boston! We stayed at a lovely boutique b&b and I was sooooo pregnant but we had the best time ever. Wow, that was 4.5 years ago ;)
OH man I want a mirror behind my headboard with a canopy! What a great splurge....!
Looks like a real escape, Carrie. I am sure you need a relaxing getaway as you have been so busy. I have yet to go on a weekend break..maybe I did 10 years ago before kids, I forget!
Wall color. Nerd.
We like Chicago for a week-end getaway. I'd push for one now but I think we're heading to Costa Rica in April. I'll be patient. :)
That's too funny that you asked the name of the paint color! That is totally something I would do too! :) Looks like a beautiful hotel. You two deserve time away from all the hard work at the house! :) I also love the look of a mirror above the headboard. One day... :)
What a beautiful suite. Don't you love weekend getaways? Nothing like recharging your batteries!
That is so sweet...getting a head start on Valentine's? (c: And what a great hotel! I just always enjoy the fact that I don't have to clean the room/bathroom (c:
That room looks awesome! That's totally the kind of question that I'd ask. We head to manhattan for a city night. If we ever go to Boston, I'll definitely scope out the Eliot. Congrats on the night away :)
A canopy is super easy! You two will knock it out in one afternoon. Can't wait to see the pics.
Gorgeous place! I love boutique hotels and how cute that they allow animals!

How fun to enjoy a night out!! Love that!
That is too funny Carrie that you asked the name of the wallcolor. The Eliot looks like a beautiful escape. I hope you had a wonderful night away, it was well deserved.
Cracking me up. I love that you asked the name of the wall color! Sounds like a wonderful night away. Oh and hey, you could totally do that mirror/canopy thing in your bedroom! I'm excited to see if this idea turns into a project ;-)
