Let's Party!

I'm always down for a party, and what could be a better excuse for one than to celebrate the "any day now" arrival of a baby girl to Kelly of View Along the Way?

Erin of His and Hers and Skye from Nethering our Fest have organized a virtual surprise party for Kelly today and I'm bringing the punch!
Here's my mom's go-to-baby-shower-sherbet-punch recipe:
1 12-ounce can of frozen citrus juice from concentrate
1 12-ounce can of frozen fruit punch from concentrate
2 2 liter bottles of 7-Up
Raspberry sherbet

In a large punch bowl combine juice concentrates then add the soda. Drop scoops of sherbet into the punch bowl.  Garnish with strawberries.

Since this a virtual baby shower (and it's 5 o'clock somewhere), let's go ahead and substitute one of those bottles of soda with a sweet, sparkling Italian wine like Asti Spumante :)

Cheers, Kelly. Best wishes to you and your family!

How fun! And I love the invitation too. Punch is always one of my favorite things (in addition to the food).

Fun punch! I should make the non-alcoholic version for the kids for Easter (seeing as the adults will be having mimosas & bloody marys!) Thanks for sharing and this virtual baby shower is such a great idea!

YUMMM!! Thank you so much for "bringing" the punch to this amazing, unexpected surprise! :) Maybe it's just that I'm SO pregnant, but just the picture of this recipe made me go digging in my pantry to see if I could make something similar! :) THANK YOU! (PS - I'll be "attending" the shower on my blog soon, so make sure you stop by!)

I looove punch and punch with wine is one of the few ways I'll drink wine. Raspberries and sherbet somehow mask that nail polish remover taste. :P Thanks for "bringing" this, Carrie! :)

This is a fun idea. I usually skip the punch at real parties and go straight to cake, but I'll virtually enjoy some punch.

Nothing compliments a shower like some punch! Love this combo and the wine would be a great addition. :)
