The push button switch in the photo below is a good example of how well historic details can work with modern furnishings.

We actually have an original one in our living room.
Which would look a whole lot better if I replaced the switch plate cover with something like this![]() |

Have a great weekend everyone. Stay cool!

Willy just replaced all ours and boy was that a job. It makes such a difference tho.
My aunt and uncle had the push kind of switch (I guess it's not really a with then or is it?). Have a great one Carrie - stay cool!
We have a 1905 American Foursquare that still has a couple of the original push button switches. We've been installing new ones from Schoolhouse Electric as we renovate. It is nice that you can still get the look AND get a dimmer switch.

We had these in our last house. Very cool. Have a great weekend!
Those look so neat! Definitely adds to the aesthetics of the house!
We had these in a previous home and I absolutely loved them. I'd love to have them again, but our current house was built in 1968, so they probably would look a little out of place.
How cool! I love details like that in a house!
Neato! I love those switches... I would love to switch mine out and replace them with these oldies but goodies :)
