Switched

I wish I'd known these existed before we started renovating.
Rejuvenation
We've been replacing all of our off-white light switches and light switch covers with white ones--which don't get me wrong, is a HUGE improvement. It just would have been neat to replace them with something a little more in line with the period of our home. These can be used with existing or new wiring.
The push button switch in the photo below is a good example of how well historic details can work with modern furnishings.

We actually have an original one in our living room.
Which would look a whole lot better if I replaced the switch plate cover with something like this
Signature Hardware
or this

Have a great weekend everyone. Stay cool!

My aunt and uncle had the push kind of switch (I guess it's not really a with then or is it?). Have a great one Carrie - stay cool!

We have a 1905 American Foursquare that still has a couple of the original push button switches. We've been installing new ones from Schoolhouse Electric as we renovate. It is nice that you can still get the look AND get a dimmer switch.

We had these in a previous home and I absolutely loved them. I'd love to have them again, but our current house was built in 1968, so they probably would look a little out of place.
