Look Up

As I write, my house is surrounded by tarps, tall ladders, and a team of roofing contractors. Our house is finally being shed of its old and outdated red and green asphalt roof.
My view out the window
 What once looked like this

Is beginning to look more like this
I never thought I'd be this excited about a roof.
But I am.
I hope to have pictures of the completed roof by next week :)

Update: Click here to see the finished roof!

A big WOO HOO for the roofers hard at work - that is exciting. And one more thing to check off the to-do list.

This is totally exciting, Carrie! There is nothing I love more than renovation, especially a historic home. Keep it coming!

You're going to love driving up to it, I remember being so excited when we got ours! I always laughed, the roofers at their lunch up there!

I've been pumped about a roof before. Who would have thought?

Did the roofers think you were a creeper with the camera? ;)

That's an interesting roof material. What is it?

Carrie @ Hazardous Design said...

Shasha, it is synthetic slate.

It is exciting!

I could NEVER work so high up! They would find me whimpering (or "wimp"ering) seven steps up the ladder.

Awesome!! It's going to look so good, Carrie! Things like roofs don't seem terrible exciting, but they have to be done and can make a big difference!

“I never thought I'd be this excited about a roof.” – Well, I, too, will be excited if my roof looks as great as yours! Actually it looks much better than your previous roof design. The blue color suits well with the green wall. I’m sure it would look great once the repair and replacement are all done! Hope to see the final results! Post some pix!

I hope by this time you're done with your roof renovation. The noise associated with these kinds of renovations can be a nuisance. Hope you will post some pictures of your newly- renovated roof! I hope you got the right contractor, or you might have to contact a new one again in a jiffy.
