"It doesn't look like you guys are around but your entire front porch fell and is laying on your bushes."
Then when I didn't respond (dead cell phone battery),
"It was a disaster-we moved it into your driveway. I wish I took a pic before we moved it :)"
Yikes!
This is what we came home to:
Gee, not having the railing there really opens up the front of the house, doesn't it?
Luckily, Chris was already making good progress on the railing (under the supervision of Georgia and Harry).
He already had plans to remove that portion of the porch over the weekend anyway. However it was really nice of Mother Nature and the force of gravity to help him out.
Hello new balustrade!

Oh my god, that is so funny! And weird. Good timing though huh? Saves Chris a step!
Ah! Good thing he was about to do it anyway! That worked out nicely.

The new one is beautiful. I hope you were laughing...it is kinda funny.
Ha! At least you have really nice neighbors!! The new one looks great, Chris really is good at this stuff!!
PS. Didn't get a chance to comment on your last post, but I can't believe you've only been in this house 2 years!!! You've gotten so much done..for some reason I thought you had lived there so much longer!
TOO funny! Love the new one! I know this is crazy talk, but the first thing I thought was, "It's going to be so pretty at Christmas!"
WELP, the new one looks awesome. What nice neighbors to pull it off your bushes! And I have to say, looking at the pictures, I really was admiring your house as a whole. It's so pretty.
Just the kind of text you don't want to get! Lucky you have neighbors who watch out for you - and luck since it was a project you were planning anyway.
omg! thank god your cell was dead, that would've given me a heart attack! the new balastrade looks AMAZING! i love how much the white pops!
What perfect timing! I was really nervous for you when I first started reading!
It definitely looks more open now!
Ha! Good thing your cell battery was dead, right? No need to worry. :) Nothing like mother nature to make you get the job done!
Well that was fortunate and it's looking amazing!
Yikes that is a panic text - like drop my coffee and fork WHAT?! At least it ended up working out and your house looks terrific Carrie.
Yikes- glad your bushes survived :) New railing looks great!
They should have specified RAILING! I expected your entire front porch had collapsed after reading that text. Luckily that was not the case!!!
What perfect timing! When is mother nature's demo ever a good thing??? That's great. Love the new banisters!!! it really opens it up!
Good thing that it was on the TO DO list:) Nice neighbors you have there.
Blessings,
Linda
