For once I'm going to say, leave it. The reason I can so confidently advise you is because I currently have 3 chandeliers in the garage with only a home for 2. I was feeling like I coudln't leave them and now I don't know if I"ll ever use them. Sometimes it's okay just to like something and then leave. I know, I know. Crazy talk!
Oh man, it is really cool but not meant to be. You'll find something that you'll be able to use the heck out of that will make you happy (like that matching lamp you found recently).

go back and buy it and find a place. what a steal! hang it in a closet.... i don't care. but get it.
Go back and get it. If you can't find a place, you could probably sell it for more if you paint it.

Personally I find it rather creepy too.......that thing in your head is something haunting you......
If you love it, you should get it. You may find a spot one day and regret not getting it!
